Family love

This weekend I had the pleasure and excitement to photograph my brand new neice...Stella. I was so excited to meet her I made sure to drive 2 hours south of me to make sure and get these amazingly cute pictures of her at 4 days old. I also got to take her mom's (my sister) maternity, I had too many picture to choose from so here are a few...

Stranger at the airport...

So I recently went to NOLA for my best friends bachlorette party and I was a little scared when I realized I had to go to the airport alone and wait their for a few hours. I know it sound childish but I haven't travelled alone since I was a child and I don't like stragners. In fact, strangers scare me more than anything. Why are they talking to ME, where do they come from, where are they going, what are their intention...

So I'm reading my book and this older gentlemen sits down about 5 seats away. I got curious about all the pictures taken during the eventful bach party and this man says "So you got a Nikon, do you like it?" Awwwww stranger danger...haha. After about an hour this man and I talked about all kinds of pictures, he showed me some of his - his wife had paid for him to take a class, how do I become her daughter ;) - and I showed my blog (which doesn't have half as many good pictures as I'd like - my hobby ones).

So in this time he taught me about depth of field and how to do it better and use my camera more effectively, which I have to say has done wonders I think. I've even ventured out to do manual focusing now instead of automatic all the time.

So Mr Airport Stranger, these are for you... (ps I have not touched these with my editing program - it's all camera) Thank you for stepping into my private bubble and forcing me to go out of my comfort zone and taking the time out of your day to teach me something sooo valuable for my hobby and future career! :)

8 months and counting...

Ok...as promised here is a family and maternity session I did a few weekends ago, I got the privelage of shooting this family of three and hope to soon do more of the soon to be family of FOUR, once Haydon comes to join them. I have found there has to be some tricks up the photographers sleeves when shooting with children, must keep them occupied...this family I got an old camera from my Grandpa and let him "take" his own pictures (no film in it but he didn't know that), he was so into it, taking pictures of them and then their ears, their toes, the grass, the bugs...it was so cute.

Maternity season....

So it's been way to long since I've posted a new blog, we've been super busy with our new house and getting it just perfect to our liking. But that doesn't mean I've stopped taking time out to get some amazing maternity pictures this last month. I have updated my maternity tab with some new ones but will add some to a new blog post very shortly. I've had a few very beautiful, very pregnant clients, one of which is my sister <3.

To be continued......
