The New Year is approaching

Well the holidays are over and the New Year is approaching. As I'm sure you all did as well, I had a wonderful Christmas. The laughter with family, the wonderful meals and the smiles on everyones face was very heartwarming. We did miss a few but their presence was with us.
The winter months are hard for me photography speaking, because by the time I'm off work it's dark so, capturing the colors this late in the year is few and far between, however sometimes you can get an occasional sunrise that is breathtaking, in weather likes ours lately.
My new goal for this year is going to be -- once a month, get up extra early and go out and find a new sunrise spot. There's this place on 512 that right at the right time has a perfect shot of Mt Rainier. And also at my work there's this parking spot where you can get an unbelievable shot of Rainer and the T Dome. IF you get there just right! Go out of my comfort, don't be lazy, find new "secret spots"...that is my goal for this new year. What about you... What's your New Years resolution or goal???

Welcome

Welcome to my first post and first time "blogging". I set up this site to share my photography with my friends, family and hopefully one day (fingers crossed) my clients.
I currently just do this for fun, take my camera on every trip, holiday, family function and even car ride. In fact, my family is so used to me invading our visitations with my lens they don't even blink at the camera any longer. But if I didn't carry it with I wouldn't be able to get amazing pictures like the one above.
This little boy was soo sweet! It was about 530am and it was not very warm out, we were at Ocean Shores and he dragged that little net all around that beach that morning, following his dad and carrying the "catch of the day". Amazing shot. I've had several people look at it and think "I remember doing that with my family when I was little".  I know personally if ever a picture struck a memory like that, I'd want it! I'd want to display it in my home to keep those memories alive. But that's why I take a million photos, to keep all my memories alive.
Well thank you for reading my post today! I'll update with more pictures. Have a wonderful night! :)
